This program is designed to meet students where they are, while preparing professionals to be equipped to work in a variety of settings. - Grand View boasts a growing Master of Social Work (MSW) program to prepare graduates for inclusive practice with diverse and vulnerable groups in a variety of professional setting with an emphasis on competent, ethical services. Students learn how to navigate complex systems in order to take an active role in addressing social problems and challenging social, economic, and environmental injustice. Courses offer active learning opportunities in and out of the classrrom so students are prepared to develop, carry out, and evaluate interventions that empower clients to meet their goals.
- Students may complete the MSW through a variety of schedules and platforms to meet their diverse needs. The program is designed to meet students where they are through flexiblity in learning options for those who need to continue in full-time employment or manage family or other obligations. Small class sizes, and consistent and intentional advising, provide students with support as they navigate their educational journey.
- The program is shaped by input from advisory council members who are local leaders in social services and help faculty understand and respond to key trends in the profession. Student voice is included on the advisory council through members who are current students and alumni of the program.
- Students in the MSW choose from three distinct specialty areas to accommodate the personal and professional interests of students: Administration and Leadership, Clinical Social Work, and School Social Work.
