Grand View Women's Soccer

On behalf of the women’s soccer coaching staff and student-athletes, we express our gratitude for your support and generous donation to our program!

This year we marked the 25th anniversary of our program.  We are very proud of what we have accomplished in the last quarter century and we are excited about the future.  The Heart of America is one of the top three NAIA soccer conferences in the country with up to five teams representing the conference in the National Tournament each year.  In the last few years, our team has been ranked in the top 10 regionally and has received serious consideration to make the NAIA National Tournament again.

The challenges and resources required for small universities to compete consistently at a high level are steadily increasing. While Grand View University is in the process to develop a new strategic plan that will include upgrading our athletic facilities, we are currently facing increased challenges to find adequate game and training facilities off campus. In the last two years, we have spent $10,000 from our fundraising budget to rent training facilities off campus. In addition, the size of our team has increased to over 50 student-athletes and we need to hire additional coaching staff and a graduate assistant to provide quality experience for our student-athletes.  Team supporters’ donations in the past have also allowed us to provide a few team meals, senior day plaques, posters and flowers, player of the week shirts, alumni game shirts and food, and once every few years, an overnight team building camp to the YMCA in Boone, IA.

Our student-athletes are not only successful on the field but also in the classroom. Our team's GPA each year is around or above 3.50. This past year, we had 28 NAIA Scholar Athletes, the second-highest number of Academic All-Americans from any women’s soccer program in the NAIA.

Our student-athletes have made a massive impact in the community by participating in various service events throughout the year. The team raised over 3,200 for the Dance Marathon, a nationwide organization that provides 100% of the funds raised to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. It is that commitment to the community that earned our program the Champions of Character Team Award at the inaugural Viktor’s Celebration this year.

As a program, we are striving to win a Heart of America Championship and return to the NAIA National Tournament. Our players and coaches bring the energy and effort on a daily basis to make those dreams a reality. We appreciate your contributions to help us achieve our goals!
