Women's Basketball Continues Winning Season

January 31, 2024

Hello Viking Fam ❤️

The women have been hard to work preparing for the rest of the season as well as gearing up for the spring semester classes. Our last game against the Pirates of Park University was a major win for us, with a final score of 75-47. Continuing our 5-0 record in the Heart Conference on the road!

We continue to see the women succeeding on the court, with Cleao Murray leading in scoring points against the Pirates with 18 points and 28 minutes of play, following closely behind is Ella Larsen with 17 points. Ellie Rengstorf shot 50% from the field, with 12 points as well! The team scored 21 points off of the Pirates' turnovers during the game.

The most recent game being postponed due to the cold weather, the women are excited to get back to playing! Grand View also starts the spring semester courses this week, and our women are prepared the succeed in the classroom.

Looking Forward to 2024

January 15, 2024

The women finished the 2023 season with a win against the Roosevelt University Lakers with the final score being 86-75. The Vikings have only faced the Lakers two times and walk away with a 2-0 all-time record. Anna Gossling scored a career-high 25 points on 10-12 shooting and helped the team come back from trailing by 9 points in the 2nd quarter.

We are starting 2024 with our highest anticipated game this season, facing the Pride of Clarke University on Jan 3rd at 5:30 in the Dave Sisam Arena. We would love the support of our fans at this game! Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at this link. The team has been working hard over break to mentally and physically prepare for the next half of our season, thank you for your continued support.

Preparing for 2024 Season

January 02, 2024

The women have been hard at work, maintaining a 11-1 winning record as we continue into HEART Conference play. Our last game, against Central Methodist ended with a huge second half, with the score ending 80-56. All five of our starting Vikings finished the game with double digit points, Cleao Murray finished with a whopping 21 points and 7 rebounds!

Looking forward, we will take a few days to recuperate during the holiday break before returning to Sisam Arena to compete against the Roosevelt Lakers, for only the second time ever. Last time the Vikings played the Lakers was in 2014, where the Vikings won 65-61. The game will be held on December 29th at 5:30.

Looking Forward to HEART Conference Play

January 02, 2024

The team has been hard at work, holding an 8-1 record as we continue deeper into the season and into HEART Conference play. The women are gearing up for finals week as well as their games that will continue over winter break.

Our next home game is December 15 at home against William Penn University, playing at 5:30 with the men's game to follow. We are asking fans to pack the gym as we face the Statesmen for the first time this season.

As we travel and play, we cannot do all we do without the support of you!

Vikings Continue Victory Streak

December 04, 2023

The Vikings open up the season undefeated after their first 5 games. We are looking forward to getting deeper into our schedule, with more competitive HEART conference games coming up!

We would love to see our Viking fans at our next home game, December 2 at 2pm. We host the MidAmerican Nazarenes; it will be a good game! Until then, we will be busy at work with conditioning, classes, lifting, and practice.
