A note from Coach Nick Mitchell

Our team has been hard at work this season, proving why we deserve to be a national championship team. We traveled to Oskaloosa, Iowa to win our 9th straight conference championship last weekend. This was a great opportunity to represent GV in the Heart Conference. On February 29th, we will travel to Wichita, Kansas to compete in the NAIA National Championship.

 

We hosted our home senior night duals on February 9th, against the Fighting Bees of St. Ambrose University. Our team closed out the night with an electric 50-0 win for our seniors.

 

At our Conference Championship, 11 wrestlers automatically qualified for the NAIA Championships: Aden Reeves, Carson Taylor, Jackson Cockrell, Blake Gonzalez, Dylan Whitt, Alex Reynolds, Isaiah Luellen, Jameel Coles, Owen Braungardt, Garavous Kouekabakilaho, and Greg Hagan. 


We are so proud of these men for representing Grand View wrestling. We also walked away with awards including:

-2024 Assistant Coach of the Year- Paul Reedy

-2024 Heart Conference Co-Tournament Outstanding Wrestler- Greg Hagan & Owen Braungardt

-2024 Heart Conference Wrestler of the Year- Greg Hagan

-2024 Heart Freshman of the Year- Dylan Whitt
