Heading into the end of the season

February 26, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting Grand View Wrestling. We are incredibly fortunate to have amazing support on and off the mat. As we get into the heart of the season, our guys are not looking to slow down anytime soon. The men recently traveled to Marshall, MO to compete in the annual Missouri Valley Invitational where they took home the team title beating 44 teams, with 192 total points.

The Vikings welcomed Graceland in their first home dual in over a year last week, defeating them 48-6. Aden Reeves opened up ranked at No. 2 earning a tech fall victory, 21-5. Later in the week, the team also welcomed the only other ranked opponent in the Heart conference. Fourteenth ranked Missouri Valley fought hard, but our guys fought harder picking up another win on the week 39-6.

Looking at the week ahead, the Vikings will divide and conquer with duals on Thursday taking on William Penn in Oskaloosa at 7:00 p.m., and the NCAA DII Lopers of Nebraska-Kearney, in Kearney at 7:00 p.m.

Vikings prepare for the road ahead

January 30, 2024

Thanks so much for your support of Grand View Wrestling. The men recently traveled to Cedar Falls to compete in the NWCA Multi-Division Championship Bracket, walking away with our 162nd consecutive dual-win milestone! As well as placing second place overall, defeating William Penn University and Menlo College, while falling to Life University, 24-17. Grand View wrestling now holds the longest dua win streak in the NAIA!

Looking forward, the men start their spring semester courses this week. We will travel to the Missouri Valley Invitational this weekend and then quickly return to host Graceland University on Tuesday the 23rd at the Dave Sisam Arena. We would love to see our alumni, fans, and friends come to support us!

One thing all championship programs have in common is championship support and the same goes for Grand View Wrestling. Winning 11 national championships in 12 years and finishing as the #3 team in the country in the 2023 NWCA-NAIA scholar team standings would not be possible without the support system of our friends, family, and boosters of the program. Thank you again for your continued support!

Season Update

January 15, 2024

Our men enjoyed their time off during break preparing for the NWCA/ USMC 2024 Multi-Divisional Dual Meet Championships taking place on Jan 5 & 6 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. We also held our annual National Champ Christmas Camp and enjoyed seeing so many young Vikings.

Not only have our men been competing at a high level on the mat, but they have also been working hard on their academics. With 41 Athletes completing the fall 2023 semester with over a 3.0 GPA, and 7 men with a 4.0 GPA. We are proud of these wrestlers for showing the championship lifestyle in the classroom.

Starting the Season Strong

December 04, 2023

Running an elite college wrestling program on a small-school budget can be challenging. Your donations ensure we are able to hire great assistant coaches to help in the training and mentoring of a large roster. With these funds we are also capable of traveling to tournaments where we are able to wrestle the toughest competition in the nation in every division, as well as teams in our own division we would not normally see until the national tournament. Our desire to compete in a highly competitive schedule is a trademark of our program.
